Attraction Spots in Lagos - Water bodies, Waterfalls & Springs


Have you heard of 'Niagra Falls' in Canada? Wow! such beauty both day and night, it's a wonderful sight to behold. And becoming a vast business district for tourism, real estate and hospitality services. This is a unique selling point for the Country and has generated alot of revenue and opportunities for residents of the state.

Let's come back home, we are Blessed with so many of these breathtaking wonders, sites that are second to none in the World, barely utilized for all the untouched potentials they have. I will be putting some out there to pique your interest for adventure, time out and for opportunities that are so evidently present.

Our first stop is Ekiti state who is sooooo Blessed with the best landscapes i have ever seen. i was opportuned to do my NYSC in the state. Ekiti is Blessed with
  1. Ikogosi waterfalls








.


The Ikogosi Warm Springs is a tourist attraction located at Ikogosi, a town in Ekiti State, southwestern Nigeria.Flowing abreast the warm spring is another cold spring which meets the warm spring at a confluence, each maintaining its thermal properties. This attributes makes the springs a tourist attraction in Nigeria.Research suggested that the warm spring has a temperature of about 70oC at the source and 37oC at the confluence.

  • Effon waterfalls
 



Ekiti State is also Blessed with a recently discovered water fall in a remote cornier of Effon Ridge near the town of Effon-Alaaye, Ekiti State.
Gracious plunge of pristine spring waters, hard to miss yet so hard to find; lost for decades, now discovered and thrown in the lime light. All known records of tourist attractions in Ekiti State and the neighbouring Osun State with which it shares boundary along the great Effon Ridge, show Arinta Waterfalls and Olumirin Waterfalls as the only falls on the ridge. It’s nonetheless awesome to note that both waterfalls have greatly enjoyed an impressive tourist traffic from all over the country.

You can get a two-in-one experience by visiting the Arinta Water Falls in Ipole-Iloro, Ekiti State. it is not far from the Ikogosi Warm Spring.
Divinely located in the uniquely salubrious environment adorn with green thick vegetation that has not been corrupted by any burning and tilling engineered by man. She tumbles and rumbles from an Olympian height before landing frighteningly on some rugged rocky surfaces and in turn disperses swiftly into the stony river beds. It is a perfect place for your picnic, relaxation and swimming. 


  • Olumirin waterfalls- Erin Ijesha  in Osun state

Erin Ijesha (Olumirin) is a seven step waterfall in Osun State, Nigeria, the waterfalls is a whole new exciting and awe inspiring experience with nature. Each step of the waterfall has a flowing fountain that marks the mystical nature of the place.
 

From Osun we'll move now to the core South South and stop by the Ethiope River.

 It's center of attraction is the uniqueness and its unnatural purity, the clearest of the clearest waters with an assortment of fishes you have never seen. At most of the points where the river runs across, one can see the bottom of the river from the bank. This has given some people a false sense of shallowness of the river to their peril.
Mostly enjoyed by the residents of Abraka in Delta state the river Ethiope is being made into a must see spot in the state.
 
  • Obudu Cattle Range Waterfall in Cross river state
 

 
 
 A spot for all things romantic, this mini waterfall is located in Obudu Cattle Ranch resort in Cross Rivers State. The altitude of the ranch makes the view breathtaking and the air fresh and clean.  with a  spectacular grotto (a natural swimming pool with its sparkling pure water, and a clear view of the long winding waterfall. Green mountain ranges surround this natural reserve that is home to rare species of birds and other animals such as the Gorilla.


  • Agbokim Waterfall in Cross Rivers state

The waterfall is surrounded by lush greenery, valleys and steep hills which are enveloped in a rainbow-like aura. Its freshness is captivating and has an alluring serenity.This is a spectacular falling sheet of water, attractive and impressive tourist spots and a highly recommended place for picnics.
It is the ideal location for a vacation to getting back into nature and regaining your creative productivity and general well being.
